Queen’s College Christmas Fair

Queen's College Christmas Fair

Each year Queen's College celebrates the beginning of the Christmas season with their Christmas Fair.

After a week of grey skies and rain, the sun came out and the clouds disappeared!

This year the charities supported by the Queen's community were Proactiva Open Arms, a Barcelona based charity helping to keep Syrian refugees safe as they flee to seek refuge in Europe, the Banco de Alimentos de Baleares (Mallorcan Food Bank) and Allen Graham's Charity 4 Kidz Foundation. The staff, families and friends of Queen's managed to raise 6,500 euros which will be shared out between the charities.

Father Christmas managed to journey to Queen's so that the youngest children we able to meet him and share their Christmas wishes. A group of Y11/12 and 13 girls decorated the children's faces followed by fun on the bouncy castle. Food and drink were kindly donated by the mums and dads who then relaxed as they lunched on tapas, mulled wine and other international nibbles. The fair was also made up of home made crafts, Christmas goods and typical games such as the sweet and bottle tombolas. Each year the fair supports Amiticia selling beautiful Christmas plants and other share their projects with the Queen's families.

The Spin the Wheel was popular with the children who were hoping to win a small prize and at the end of the fair the wheel "turned" for the "Star Prizes" of weekends in hotels, meals, cinema and show tickets as well as beauty treatments and yoga classes, all generously donated by Queen's parents.

Staff were so proud that so many of the Queen's College children and students gave up their time to help the staff and parents on stalls to make the Queen's College Christmas fair another enjoyable, successful family event.
